Why Lout? Feat. John Lydon
Why Lout? had a very busy weekend. We spent a good 3 hours of it waiting for, or riding on the 250 Bus (Thank you Brixton Hill, water pipe) But the time that we were in the studio we came together and made a record that we are truly proud of! Pixel, Jack Nimble and Dego combined on the MPC to sample the great John Lydon and his band PiL. The track will be called 'It's in your nature' and samples John Lydon crooning in his unmistakable fashion on the chorus. 'It's in yoooouuurr naaaaattttuuuureeee' Pixel, Marvin The Martian and Jack Nimble laid versus that fitted John Lydon's original theme to a tee.
The track was sampled from the original PiL metal box-Vinyl release. An amazingly off-beat, reggae-type track. Why Lout? Brought the trademark energy and bounce that make it a more contemporary recording. The plans for the track are as-yet unknown. Although it's likely that it will feature in Why Lout?'s live perfromance and on the 'It's been time' Mixtape released in the next 2 months.

Something for the weekend.
You're all probably, at-home. Watching the Carling cup final and the England Vs. Ireland Rugby. In your mind, it's no longer a weekday. It's the bit before the weekend, that lazy, comfortable friday evening. So I'm going to make it my mission to send you away to your respective weekends with something 'Why Lout?' to think about.
Firstly. You'd better be ready to come down to Brixton high-street (Plan-B, right around the corner from the Academy!) on Thursday! I can't overstate what a massive performance we've got lined-up for you.....
Secondly. Why Lout? have recieved confirmation of a booking to perform at 'The Poet' in East London as a part of a U.K Hip-Hop festival for 'Street Level Promotions' ( www.streetlevelhiphop.com ) The event will take place over 3 days 26th March-28th March. Details to follow.....
Thirdly. Artrocker Issue 7. Is out on monday! ItsBeenTime.blogspirit.com's very own site maintainer has his regular feature. This editorial will focus on live Hip-hop........
Fourthly. Why Lout?'s favourite band 'Art Brut' are on tour with Rock and roll idiot Ed. You want tickets! You know you do! To win tickets for Cardiff and Liverpool dates (Sorry, London tickets are gone.) Go to http://www.artrocker.com/news/artbrut2.shtml and answer the question 'Who "Roughly Traded" Art Brut's brilliant release 'We formed a band'?
Fithfuly. Why Lout? are on the verge of something historic. I won't ruin the surprise of what we've been up to. But I'm sure that when everything's ready, you'll be the first to know......
Have a good weekends. Wild out, and be happy!

Paedophiles are in.....
I was reading an article in this mornings 'Sun' newspaper that really got me thinging. The Headline was 'Why is Holloywood glamorising Paedophiles?' It raises soe important issues about films beign released with pro-paedophile messages, such as 'The Woodsman'- Out on Friday. Which, 'The Sun' claims 'criticises the placing of abusers' names on a public sex offenders register'. The article goes into further detail. But to me, it's Hollywood. I'd say that maybe 1 in 3 people in the movie business has some kind of horrible, sexual vice. I guess it's Paedophilia's time to become decensortised/ accepted/ "Understood". How about stopped?
The article did get me thinking though, about one of Marvin The Martian's lyric's 'First of all there's no R. Kelly played in my home'. Within Why Lout? and in the immediate circle that surrounds it. R. Kelly is considered a Paedophile. If you don't already know, R. Kelly is currently awaiting trial for something like 30-odd, charges of paedophilia! Ranging from the infamous 'Sex-Tapes' Which were seized from his home. Which show him commiting some really quite horrible sexual acts with young girls. There are reportedly digital cameras with hundreds of Paedophilic images. Let's not forget that R. Kelly was the man who produced 14-year old, R'n'B sensation Aaliyah R.I.P's first album 'Age aint nothing but a number' (Ah, hem?) The cover of which, depicts Alliyah up against a wall, with R. Kelly (Gazing, longfully) in the background. Not evidence, but definitely more than coincidence. Don't believe me?
R. Kelly went on to marry the 'Under-age' girl in an ilegal cerimony. The marriage was anulled and Aaliyah moved on to make some of the best Hip-Hop soul, the world has ever known, with the help of production genius Timbaland.
Why is R. Kelly allowed to move around the world with the freedom that he does? What protects a young, star-struck, pre-teen from being taken back to R. Kelly's hotel on tour?
I was a fan of R. Kelly, and of course, he has not been found guilty of any crimes in the court of law. But I manage to maintain a boycott on his music and continue to question the validity and education of the coverage of his music. But I seem to be in the minority. I have owned every Jay-Z release for instance (Including his first 'Best of both worlds' Collabo with R. Kelly!) But when he released 'Best of both worlds 2: Unfinished business' I didn't even give it a second look, I can't tell you what the singles sound like, what the inside artwork looks like. Any of it....
To me, Paedophilia is the worst crime imaginable. To be selfish and twisted enough to want to jeopardise the lives of the most frail in our society is the sign of a truly sick person. One who needs to be locked up or worse. But when Hollywood or the music industry feel like it? It's just another fad. Like band members smoking crack? They adopt the term 'Bad-Boy of R'n'B' and ignore the more suitable term 'Kiddy Fiddler'. Gary Glitter wasn't afforded the same right (Rightly so!) So what makes R. Kelly different? Welll.... 'Chocolate factory' did about 5 Million didn't it?
It's actually quite disturbing!

Errrrr.....
Errrrrrr, wow! Arsenal pretty much shamed themselves and their fans yesterday. I know that Arsenal fans are spoilt, and that we shouldn't expect so much. But, last night there were 14 players in Arsenal shirts who really didn't deserve to be wearing them.
I think that those who watched the game will be able to read my preview and say that tactically, I wasn't a million miles off. But the players on the pitch is what matters. Ljungberg up front? But anyway....
Making the next round isn't impossible. But it's unlikely. Boy do we ever need some English players on the pitch for that game. Maybe a different Arsenal with Campbell, Cole and Bergkamp? Hope so!
Congratulations to Liverpool by the way. Solid performance, without their inspirational captain.
Good luck Chelsea and Man Utd. Tonight..... U.K!

Come on Arsenal!

I see quite an even game played majorly in the centre of the park.
Bayern's midfield is a bit suspect. If it was Ballack and Schweinsteiger it could have been the best in the world. But Hargreaves and Frings? It's decent actually, but Frings can't play the holder, he likes to flank to much and Hargreaves lacks bite in the tackle. He can read the game very well though. The Bayern Defence is wack, wack like Cygan. Lucio is the Man, no question. Kovac is not an ideal choice at centre back. He's wooden and lacks vision, Sangol is a good-enough right back but there's very little to his game, he's basic and up against a decent left-wing he's clueless. Lizarazu is dodgy, once a mamoth left-back. Arguably the best in the world, but in comparison, he's nothing more than mediocre. Some defenders can stand the test of time (Cafu and Maldini for instance) if I were a Bayern fan, i'd rather have Samuel Kyffour in there! It doesn't look too sure, it's of champions league standard but maybe not Bayern's.
Edu and Vieira should do a job against Hargreaves and Frings. Henry and Reyes should do a job against that defence in general. Lehmann needs to do a job, it's no 2 ways about it! Cole needs to hold Salihamidzic and Lauren needs to be focussed on not letting Ze Roberto get that ball on his left-foot. Toure's playing a career-defining game tonight. Can he do it? Cygan's shit. but we know this. Ljungberg is the key man, he's up against Ze Roberto and Lizarazu who like to attack so expect the break-away to focus on the right of Arsenal's attack.
We're going to need the whole team on top-form (As they have been in the league recently) to progress. Bayern are a strong team with a good coach and a very German Dicipline. Arsenal are notoriously unfocussed in europe and it's cost us dearly. Lets hope that tonight is the night we turn that all around.
Also good luck to Liverpool who face Leverkusen tonight. Frantic and Marvin The Martian are kop fans.

Brixton Street-trade set to go through the roof!
Junkie, crack-head Pete Doherty of band 'The Babyshambles' and formerly of 'The Libertines' Has been granted a special bail so that he can perform a concert at Brixton's 'Carling Academy'.
Now.... I'm born and bred in Brixton! Why Lout? was born and bred in Brixton! We know what Brixton's famous for! We understand that it's not the safest place in britain! Now, as a judge/ courtroom. Surely you have the knowledge of the significance and symbolism that is incured by allowing a crack-head to perform in Brixton? Surely? This is the man who admits to smoking crack with his fans when he's not attending his gigs and causing riots. So how do the Brixton Police feel about a stadium of potential crack-heads coming to 'crack-central'? Surely, the policing of the event will be more extravegant and expensive than any other day in Brixton's calender? Maybe they'll just park their 'Welcome to Brixton! Everything you've read is true!' Jeep outside the tubestation like they usually do?
We'll see! It's more than likely that the event will go off without a hitch! But it's certainly the least secure gig that could be booked in U.K. Music right now! So who is it that will suffer? The industry? The Sun (Who have embraced young Peter and his PR Company with open arms)? The NME (Who lambast 'The Sun' for not being down with crack-heads earlier!) Rough Trade? Geoff Travis? Alan McGhee? Then again what is it they say? 'All publicity is good publicity'? The Baby Shambles/ Smackyshambles (Thank you Ed!) Will move millions of units, the publishing on the singles will be worth a mint, the tours and the merchandise likewise. Where does Pete's cut go? Straight down to Brixton! Well..... The judge sent him.
His blood's on allot of people's hands! The list appears to get bigger by the day..... What's really sad is that he's just a boy! Just a boy on a drug! Like any-other in the U.K. It's so, not his fault that it is actually quite upsetting! But the people in charge of his career place this poor, child at the forefront of this PR movement and of course he will bare the brunt of it! Could even cost him his life.....

Eastman's still a legend....
The Battersea Bomber, Howard Eastman fought Middleweight Legend Bernard Hopkins on Saturday night. Although Eastman didn't walk away from the fight with the belts that he craved he also didn't leave with any shame or disgrace. Although I believe that he was well bellow his best, it was one of Howard's first major fights, and certainly the biggest of his career so far. He definitely showed the U.S. what he was capable of. That was him on a 6, you don't want to imagine him at 10. I think that Howard should be recognized as one of the greats of the modern boxing era and will be if he continues to progress, the 34 year old has about 5 years.
Why Lout? Have got allot of love for Eastman, we even shouted him out on the intro to our first mix-tape. So Howard, Hold your head up! Know that you're better than that. Stay over there in the states and build up your box-office value. Those belts will be yours eventually.
