KoKo live review!

Clive Martin over at Glasswerk.co.uk gave Art Brut a good review from the KoKo gig last week and in the process complimented Why Lout?'s live performance. Some inaccuracies but it's a lovely review. It's gratifying when people see our vision. The mixed genre billing has always been a big focus for us. Read the review Here.

Why Lout? Mailout!!!!

Chupa chups people? Why Lout? Stay busy, you know this. The mixtape is in mixing stages (seems like it's taken fargin ages!). It's so close we can smell it! We've been grateful to receive a lot of love over the last couple of weeks from magazines (check out the new issue of Artrocker with 'Hot hot heat' on the cover! Why Lout? Decide on 5 things that we rate and 5 things we slate!), radio coverage over the last couple weeks has been nice, Rodney P & Skitz played 'Country' from the new tape on Friday. We thought we'd radio edited that track, but apparently we're morons! Sorry about that word slip fellas. The other side of the industry's been clocking the movements as well which we appreciate and love. We, like the legendary M.O.P (sign with G-Unit, release the album, go platinum and educate the poptastic youth!) want to have our music reach and affect as many people as possible, so we respect and enjoy the challenge of the modern day music industry. An art in itself! So to have even the smallest recognition from that side is more gratifying then we expected!

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend. It's hot. We're gonna barbeque and finish
the mixtape.

Champion League nothing!

Watched the Champions league final last night. Just knocked out a quick paragraph explaining exactly how Liverpool have inadvertantly destroyed the Champions League and what it meant!

Enjoy

-------------------

Milan have been fighting on Domestic fronts, with the top teams from their division for 5 or 6 years, they just within weeks lost the Serie A title to Juventus but fought to the nail to claim it. Liverpool were knocked out of the FA Cup by some nobodies, they reached the Carling Cup final (big whoop!), but did absolutely nothing in the Premier League, and that goes for this last and the season before. So after a long and competetive season, the "Champions League" The "Champions of Champions" should meet in the finals and compete for the prize, the end of a season that involves domestic battles on cup and league fronts. The 2 teams in the finals of the Champions league should be tired! The thing that makes them "Champions of Champions" Is their collective desire, drive and focus to claim the trophy. So when Milan went into the game at the end of a long hard season, they pummelled a lesser team into submission playing amazing classy football that had me wondering wether it would be 10-0 at the final whistle, but Milan have been playing like that all season, and would not be able to maintain it for 90 minutes, Liverpool got thumbed because they're not very good. A not very good team can beat a a good team with absolutely knackered great team over 45 minutes and did! Same thing they did against Chelsea and Juventus. All of which have been fighting domestically, in league and cup competitions as well as attempting to make gains in Europe for the last 5,6,7 years.

Liverpool have ruined the Champions League....

I'm going to the Kitchen

I'm gonna go Different Kitchen by copying Ian's blog style. I'm gonna link you to some web links that I'm feeling right now.

People should know if they don't already, that Freeway's debut album is a classic! He's got his sophomore ready to drop in 2 months called 'Free at last' through Rocafella/Def Jam of course. He's talking about the new album, the state of his Property, Jay and Dame and Rims on AllHipHop.com. Mannie Fresh beats? That could work!

You know aboout Riko from Roll Deep's blog? Well, there's an interesting article written by Hattie Collins about Roll Deep and their East London estate on the Guardian website.

You know I had to link some Why Lout? news, well I've got a whole 'Different Kitchenesque' Why Lout? Post coming soon, but for now. We've just confirmed our next show at the 333 club For Bugbear.

Say it for me Laze: 'Salute'

M.O.P Update!!!

You know I've always got those M.O.P exclusives. M.O.P are the hardest rap group in history, some of the best hip-hop ever comes from that camp. Get that deal M.O.P get that album out and show them how it's fucking well done!

-------------------------------

Thank God for the Internet, because without it ,niggaz would not know Vinny from Australia, Q Hectic, or 1545. Salute to ya'll niggaz. I let Bill see (since you know these niggaz don't always get into the .com) all of the comments you dudes were writing, and he was impressed. You see, these guys don't really know how much they are loved throughout the world. They come from a place that takes everything away from you, your mans, moms, brothers, and life. So they go through this 13-year career, not knowing that they are The Blue Print for the street gospel (salute to the voices that cant be heard). We are proud of the fact that we stand our ground.

We stood up against Select Records in 1994
We stood up against Relativity in 1997
We stood up against Loud and Columbia in 2000
And now we had to say the nano to ROC/Def Jam in 2005,

For us fighting against oppressive operating systems has been the norm for a classic group like the mopees, and for the fans that makes us special, we have the obligation to represent ourselves that way, till they turn the lights out on this motherfucker. Hey now, let's not twist it up though, we aren't no mother fucking last poets. We are niggaz in its most negative connotation.  So when one of us get locked up or caught up in some bullshit with the police, our universal response is always "he'll be alright"

We'll be alright'

As we turn the page, we've built up friends, friends like Dame Dash, I call him the phoenix. (You see Dame knows how to stand by his friends)

And...

50 cent.

Fifty is a new acquaintance, and being blessed with the ability to get to know the person, I will be able to speak from experience and not hear say. Stay tuned, this year will get more interesting as the months go by...

Salute.

Please keep firing my niggaz.

Rated Or Slated

Sup, sup? The new issue of Artrocker with 'Hot Hot Heat' (who I met at Leeds festival a couple of years back) on the cover hits shops today. The popular feature 'Rated or Slated' (where a band/band member decides on 5 things that they rate, and 5 things that they slate) has been done by none other then Why Lout?.... Yup! So go down to your indie record shop (Rough Trade, Sister Ray, SelectaDisc etc. etc.) and find out wether Why Lout? 'Rate or slate' Rizla, Family Guy and Sugar Puffs. It's essential reading.

Beleedat!!

Riko Dan on the blog!

Oi. Big shouts to Roll Deep's Riko, for joining the blog ranks. His blog RikoDan.blogspot.com is good to see. With Roll Deep doing it big at the moment, Riko's keeping you up to date with his moves.....

That's Brixton to Bow, East London man, doing it properly. Roll Deep's album's coming soon, I've been hearing and seeing a shit load of press for the crew and I know that Riko's like the HNIC (apart from Wiley Cat) of that, he ripped on 'Run The Road'. They're coming from the garage scene and breaking out with a Grimey hip-hop thing. The production on the new shit sounds deep!

So check out Riko's blog!

Gifts from The Prince...

Jay's the king. He's still the king, lets not pretend that anybody's even come close to claiming to crown "YET". But in the time that the king's been off duty, a prince did emerge. One that could easily be crowned the King in the not to distant future. Lil Wayne of former Hot Boy fame's last album 'Tha Carter' is a f***ing classic! A southern classic, a rapper classic, a musical journey. With the Prince considering offers from Jay's Def Jam, aswell as every other major I'm sure, Wayne opted to stay with Universal and start his own label called Young Money Entertainment, to start his label and whet the appetite of the starving many. Wayne has recorded a 2 disc mixtape with his Young Money click. Not only is it brilliant and a great display of Wayne's versatility and skill, but it's also proving a a great display of Wayne's promotional abilities. Wayne has made the double disc available for free! (EVERYBODY LOVES FREE MUSIC!!!) The double disc tape is available as a download from his site YoungMoneyEnt.com and sees Weezey and his new artists test their range on a variety of cross coastal beats....

DOWNLOAD THAT S*** AND LEARN ABOUT THE PRINCE!
