"When I Shop at Harvey Nicks"
It's not the newest video on the planet I know. But those who haven't seen Sway Dasafo rapping The Mitchell Brothers off of their best track, then watch the video... Windows (Hi), Windows (Lo), Real (Hi) or Real (Lo).

Riko aint 'avin' it!!!
Riko Dan of Roll Deep is not having it from the ignorant people! He posted a picture of his girlfriend's nails on his blog RikoDan.Blogspot.com. Some ignorant people were leaving some unsavoury comments so he had to turn them off and break down some basic etiquette on racism for the people coming to his site!
"This world is mixed up of all different sorts of races and religions, when are people going to except people and not judge them by what colour they are or what religion they choose to follow, I have but clearly their are still people who haven't!"
Read the whole breakdown here.
Riko gets 2 "Braps" For that!

Get well soon!

So today is the day I employ all tactics of a normal blogger! So? My iPod is wiping itself for the second time in a month! I'm f***ing pissed! I've been reseting it to avoid glitches, I never, ever, ever drop it, it's always charged! I treat it well! Why does it have to keep wiping itself? Why? Why? Why? I love my iPod! It makes going to work and coming home from work on the stupidly hot 30 minute tube journey bearable. Now I have to go down to Old Street for Why Lout?'s soundcheck tonight without my iPod! That means no iPod for that journey, no iPod for the after soundcheck time, no iPod for my journey back to work and then the fantastic process of restoring the albums with a computer that can only take 3 albums at a time and takes a good 30 minutes to rip from C.D to.
Yey! Wankers!

"Wish I could bring Pun back"

I know it's a cliche for a blogger to post something interesting they found on ebay! But I think this is more then interesting, this is serious! The late Big Pun's chain is being sold. His wife is having trouble raising Pun's kids and affording to live...
Taken from the ebay page...
"The sale of this medallion goes to Big Pun's wife and three children. Since Pun's untimely passing in 2000, Pun's wife has struggled to raise their three children as well as make mortgage payments on their home and other expenses. Contrary to what some believe, the family are far from millionaires, Pun's wife and children do not receive royalty checks for Pun's first two albums, and only one small royalty check was paid for Pun's final album. The family's attempts to get the money due to his children have been unsuccessful to date. By bidding on this piece of Hip Hop history, you are helping the family of a Rap legend, part of the funds will also go towards legal efforts to retrieve any unpaid album sale money the children could receive."

Platinum or Gold?
Did they change the rules on platinum sales? I've been reading that Mike Jones' new album 'Who is Mike Jones?' has gone platinum which as I have to come to understand is 1,000,000 sales. (Taken from HipHopGame.com on the 18th June 2005 "In less than two months, the debut release from Houston-based MIKE JONES' "Who Is Mike Jones?" has been RIAA CERTIFIED PLATINUM.) But I'm pretty sure that Mike Jones has only just broken the 500,000 mark. (Taken from SOHH.com on 23rd June 2005 "Who Is Mike Jones? moves down one spot to #21 this week. Things have changed for the Swishahouse rapper since "Back Then." Mike's sales moved 42,210 albums this week, totaling 607,670 copies to date.") 500,000 is a huge, impressive number of sales, especially for the short time the L.P's been available for, but I'm pretty sure that 500k's Gold rather then Platinum.
I'm a fan of Mike Jones and hope he does reach the staggering 1,000,000 copies that I've come to know as justifying a platinum plaque. But why have I been reading that it already is? Have they changed the sales targets? I know it's a small thing to worry about, and I sound a bit like 50 Cent when he accused Jadakiss of "Having a Platinum party when he knows that he's only sold 800 and change". But I have to say that 500,000 seems a little low in such a big territory to qualify as platinum! Over here I believe Platinum is only 100,000 but we're our territory's as big as 1 small state over there. A UK gold plaque used to require 1,000,000 sales. That seems impossible these days! Only Coldplay and U2 can reach that over here.
I just want to know if they've changed it and why?

The new class divide...
I think there is a new class divide in Britain today! In recent history that has been a very plain and straight forward class divide, there has been the 'Under class' (the homeless, the destitute), the 'Working class' (the working class, the majority, the 'People'), the 'Middle class' (the comfortable, the civil servants, the home owners) and the 'Upper class' (the wealthy, land owners, business owners, employers). I believe now that there is a change in the class system. The new system I believe is broken down into 2 groups! The 'Producers' and the 'Consumers', I believe that those who work as administrators, those who work in the civil service and those that are paid by the government are the 'Consumers' they seem to contribute nothing physical to society, they 'Produce' nothing but 'Consume' wealth. Then there are the 'Producers', now the 'Producers' don't have to be factory workers or scaffholders etc. (formerly known as the 'Working class') But those who own the companies that produce the goods, the people who build and sell property etc. (formerly known as the 'Upper class'). I believe that we're facing a real breakdown in society over the next few years as physical work, the act of creation becomes a less prosperous prospect the 'Producers' will begin to resent the 'Consumers' who have guaranteed pensions, have £250k-£1m redundancy checks in the waiting regardless of incompetence. The 'Producers' as I say, will not just be the traditional 'Working Class' but also the traditional 'Upper class'. With job creation in Britain on the up, in pointless government departments, the GLA building having it's own indoor football pitch, the ID Card disgrace potentially costing each Briton £300 and will be used as nothing but a revenue raiser at that. The 'Balirite' culture that has seen Tony create 1,000,000 new civil service jobs during his tenure has been a very deliberate ploy for New Labour to claim and own 1,000,000 people in Britain come election time. It has worked to date, but I genuinely believe that the 'Producers' can only incur so many more 'Fines' and 'ASBOs'. The 'Producers' will only stand for the rising council taxes and intimidation tactics of those that are paid from their own pocket! Their is already a slight rumble in the soils of the 'Producers' and the fact that in the last general election 'England' voted for a Conservative government speaks louder then the 'Consumers' would like to believe!
To be continued....
--------------------------
I intend to advance this theory over the next few weeks. It has been developed by myself and Tom Artrocker over the last couple of months. Please let me know whether you see where I'm coming from and whether you are with me....

p.s. I can only talk on the state of British politics, but I'd like to know whether the theory is applicable to your country.

Cassidy's a mug!

Sorry Ian, sorry Pixel, Cassidy's arse-backwards! As much as I hear him, read about him, see him on the DVD's the less enthusiastic I get about this average dude! He's gone and been a silly billy and looks like he's in for a rough ride over the next few months. Maybe Cassidy Jr can include him in a new version of that gar-barge Hip-Hop Police song? This isn't just a random post, Pixel tried to convince me that Cassidy was something more then a jarring little punchline mouse last night and I came across this mug-shot this morning. Cassidy is a mug!

A Hleb of a signing?
HLEB AGREES GUNNNERS MOVE

Taken from SkySports.Com (Football's best site!)
Stuttgart star Alexander Hleb has agreed to move to Arsenal in a deal that could net the Bundesliga side up to €15 million.
The Belarus international must yet complete a medical and obtain a work permit but is set to become Arsene Wenger's first signing of the summer as he looks to prise the Premiership trophy back from London rivals Chelsea.
After a disappointing league and European campaign Wenger had been keen to add more experience to a midfield that relied heavily on inexperienced talent Francesc Fabregas last year.
The versatile Hleb has made over 130 appearances with Stuttgart in a career spanning five years in Germany, and has emerged as one of Die Bundesliga's most promising talents.
After having an initial offer turned down Wenger has now captured his man and beaten the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea in concluding his lengthy pursuit of the player.
Wenger voiced his delight at the signing of the 24-year-old, who could rival Freddie Ljungberg for the right-hand side of midfield, and expressed a hope that he could prove a valuable player for The Gunners.
"We are delighted that Alexander Hleb has agreed to join us," Wenger told the club's official website.
"He is a player I have admired for some time now and I know he will provide our squad with great quality.
"Hleb has proved his ability with his performances in the Bundesliga in recent seasons and he definitely has the potential to do very well with Arsenal."
Hleb himself was excited at the prospect of joining the likes of Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp at the FA Cup winners.
"I am very happy to have this fantastic opportunity to join Arsenal. They are a club with a great history and many world class players," said Hleb.
----------------------------------------
Hleb on the right, Ljungberg on the left, Vieira and Gilberto in the middle! Sounds like a midfield to me!

What the bands really thought?
A great article in The Guardian this morning about what some of Glastonbury's bands thought of some of Glastonbury's other bands. Frat Art Brut quote about The Magic Numbers "I like beards, I like xylophones, I like handclaps, I even like 50s riffs - I just don't like old-man music."
Read the whole article Here. Most of it's arse-kissing nonsense, but there are a few gems in there!
