Pennant to serve...
Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant (22) Was sentenced to 3 months in prison today, he appeared before magistrates accused of several driving offences. Including, driving under suspension, driving under the influence and driving with no insurance. The right winger has spent the last few months wowing crowds on loan at Birmingham but will miss the rest of the season, after which his Arsenal contract will expire. Leaving him free to leave the club officially.
A 15 year old Jermaine was signed by Arsenal from Notts County for a massive £2 Million, a then-record for a teenager. He has struggled to claim a first team place since arriving and has found himself in trouble with the law on more than 1 occasion. Although having a very obvious natural talent, Jermaine has been accused of lacking focus and commitment, I consider the boy to be one of the best young players to have pulled on an Arsenal jersey and consider it a shame that such a talent will not continue in the Arsenal red and white.
It has been claimed by Birmingham chairman David Gold that Jermaine is very poorly educated and could hardly read or write when Birmingham met with the England Under 21 international. If this is true, then I believe that Arsenal and it's system of coaches should be very ashamed by the way that they've treated young Jermaine. A 15 year-old moved to the biggest and fastest city in Europe from a council estate in Nottingham, would be a massive transition and one that should have been handled with more care and respect in my opinion. I can only hope that Pennant can learn from his mistakes and appreciate the talent that he has been blessed with, it was about 20 years ago that Arsenal's greatest ever player Tony Adams was sent to prison for a similar offence. Tony went on to become England's second best Centre back of all time and Arsenal's greatest ever player. It was mooted that Adams would take Jermaine under his wing once the winger's prison sentence was complete. I truly hope that Tony Adams can help Jermaine to beat his demons and become the player that we've all hoped he would be..... Hold your head up Jermaine.

Come on Arsenal!

I see quite an even game played majorly in the centre of the park.
Bayern's midfield is a bit suspect. If it was Ballack and Schweinsteiger it could have been the best in the world. But Hargreaves and Frings? It's decent actually, but Frings can't play the holder, he likes to flank to much and Hargreaves lacks bite in the tackle. He can read the game very well though. The Bayern Defence is wack, wack like Cygan. Lucio is the Man, no question. Kovac is not an ideal choice at centre back. He's wooden and lacks vision, Sangol is a good-enough right back but there's very little to his game, he's basic and up against a decent left-wing he's clueless. Lizarazu is dodgy, once a mamoth left-back. Arguably the best in the world, but in comparison, he's nothing more than mediocre. Some defenders can stand the test of time (Cafu and Maldini for instance) if I were a Bayern fan, i'd rather have Samuel Kyffour in there! It doesn't look too sure, it's of champions league standard but maybe not Bayern's.
Edu and Vieira should do a job against Hargreaves and Frings. Henry and Reyes should do a job against that defence in general. Lehmann needs to do a job, it's no 2 ways about it! Cole needs to hold Salihamidzic and Lauren needs to be focussed on not letting Ze Roberto get that ball on his left-foot. Toure's playing a career-defining game tonight. Can he do it? Cygan's shit. but we know this. Ljungberg is the key man, he's up against Ze Roberto and Lizarazu who like to attack so expect the break-away to focus on the right of Arsenal's attack.
We're going to need the whole team on top-form (As they have been in the league recently) to progress. Bayern are a strong team with a good coach and a very German Dicipline. Arsenal are notoriously unfocussed in europe and it's cost us dearly. Lets hope that tonight is the night we turn that all around.
Also good luck to Liverpool who face Leverkusen tonight. Frantic and Marvin The Martian are kop fans.

Eastman's still a legend....
The Battersea Bomber, Howard Eastman fought Middleweight Legend Bernard Hopkins on Saturday night. Although Eastman didn't walk away from the fight with the belts that he craved he also didn't leave with any shame or disgrace. Although I believe that he was well bellow his best, it was one of Howard's first major fights, and certainly the biggest of his career so far. He definitely showed the U.S. what he was capable of. That was him on a 6, you don't want to imagine him at 10. I think that Howard should be recognized as one of the greats of the modern boxing era and will be if he continues to progress, the 34 year old has about 5 years.
Why Lout? Have got allot of love for Eastman, we even shouted him out on the intro to our first mix-tape. So Howard, Hold your head up! Know that you're better than that. Stay over there in the states and build up your box-office value. Those belts will be yours eventually.
